Change of Plans

Hey All!

It’s Sav. I want to give you all an update. There have been a few changes since going to YWAM. About three weeks in, I decided to return home. The experience stretched me physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The staff and I all agreed that it was a good experience for me and also a good decision to return home.

My Experience: My experience was the best. It was moving, it stretched me a lot more than I thought. I was able to thrive, blossom, and fall more in love with God. I’m glad that my experience is only my experience, why? Why, because I got to have my own time to dive deeper into who Jesus is, and to know more about myself. I can’t put my whole experience into words, but the one thing that I can say is that being at YWAM only for a short time changed my life. I am ready to be publicly in love with Jesus. I cannot wait for what more great experiences God has out there for me!

What the days were like: Oh man! I had a crazy schedule. Breakfast was at 7 A.M. every morning. After that, we had quiet time with God followed by lectures. Some afternoons were spent in “AOS” (Acts Of Service). Evenings varied including worship nights, social activities, or electives. I picked Documentary Film for my elective. I had fun, but it was different than I thought it was going to be.

Highlights of the lectures: The 3 topics that I went through were: Week 1 Hearing God’s Voice, Week 2 Life Of Jesus, and Week 3 Intimacy with God.

My Favorite highlight overall was about Intimacy with God. We had a phenomenal speaker named Dan Baumann. Hearing his stories, and how God was with him in every circumstance blew my mind. One thing that Dan said that really hit me one morning was “ God likes you. God Loves you. God Wants you.” I was almost in tears, I never fully understood that God likes you and that God wants you. It really opened my eyes to see that God cares and loves everything about you and that he loves you more than you could comprehend. I have so many more big highlights from the lectures, so if you want to know them, don’t hesitate to reach out to me!

What’s next:

Since being home, I have been giving myself time to adjust back to home life. It’s been really hard, but God’s got me in this new season. I have been doing some nannying. As you know, I love kids! My future plans are still in the works. I am hoping to take classes in theology and someday be a kindergarten teacher.

Your Support:

Thank you all so much for supporting me financially, and also with prayer. Your encouragement means so much to me. I will be reaching out to all of you about what I should do with the money that you have graciously donated. Thank you again for your support!

Blessings, Savvy Adams

Thank you so much for sharing. Sounds like your time was really a part of what God has for you. I have learned with myself and Gen's journey is that the desires and passion can look the same but maybe the way of walking and getting there can look different. Which by the way can really be 'amazing'. God is so committed to us and I love how he knows how to craft and lead our life. Bless you sweet one!
